The WhatsApp social media platform on Saturday, January 16, 2021, has released a statement saying it's postponing the plan to implement its New Data Service Plan.
"Thank you to everyone who’s reached out. We're still working to counter any confusion by communicating directly with @WhatsApp users. No one will have their account suspended or deleted on Feb 8 and we’ll be moving back our business plans until after May"__WhatsApp said
WhatsApp had said it will start sharing users numbers and other privacy related information with it parent platform- Facebook, from February 8.

The news, however, triggered an unpleasant responses from WhatsApp users forcing majority to switch to Signal and Telegram messaging apps.
The mass exodus from WhatsApp caused the WhatsApp officials to retract their statement, saying it was a mere misconception on the side of users. Howbeit, it giving users plenty of time to review and understand the terms.
"We will make sure users have plenty of time to review and understand the terms. Rest assured we never planned to delete any accounts based on this and will not do so in the future."WhatsApp added
