The global Igbo body popularly known as World Igbo Congress, WIC, has issued a directive prohibiting the executive governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodimma from participating in any community event in Igbo land.
The pronouncement, which was released on Monday March 1, by the WIC Media Action Group, followed the wanton and extra Judicial killing of Ndigbo in Orlu during the military air strikes operation.
The Imo state governor had also said he was responsible for inviting the soldiers of the Nigerian Army;
Although the governor noted that the military deployment in Orlu was a measure in combating officials of Eastern Security Network created by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu while claiming nobody was hurt or killed, a survey conducted by SaharaReporters revealed that many innocent residents died from the air strikes operation
WIC condemned Hope Uzodimma's action in the strongest terms, adding that only a saboteur can invite enemies to kill his people.
Speaking on the Igbo customs, WIC explained that the 'act of killing either by omission of commission' is a taboo in Igbo land hence the pronouncement on Hope Uzodimma.
The brief statement reads,
"The hopeless governor of Imo State is a SABO, an outcast of Imo people. We ban him from any community event in Igboland. The killing of Igbo youths is a crime to Igboland. We must Resist!! Reject him NOW!!!"
