Enforcement Of Anti-Grazing Law: No Fewer Than Four Lifeless Cows Discovered Inside The Forest In Southeast Region
The video circulating on social media captured no fewer than four cows discovered dead in the eastern region of Nigeria, following the 14 days ultimatum expiration prohibiting open grazing in the area.
The Southeast governors, on February 1, had ban open grazing which was also in compliance with the 1969 Nigeria's Anti-Grazing Law that prohibits herdsmen from roaming about with cows.
Consequently, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had also given 14 days ultimatum for Fulani herdsmen to quit forest reserves and rent an accommodation in the town as well as adopting the ranching method
The directives was a measure to ensure that the numerous insecurity challenges experienced in the eastern region and mainly perpetrated by killer herdsmen are checkmated and eradicated.
Officials of Eastern Security Network were levied with the responsibility of enforcing the law after the ultimatum expiration which ended on Sunday February 14.
