It Is Your Duty To Protect And Not To Arrest Peaceful Protesters__Atiku Knocks Buhari, Security Agencies
Former Nigerian vice president and the PDP, 2015 presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar has condemned the latest arrest and torture of #OccupyLekkiTollGate protesters, endorsed by Nigerian authorities and implemented by the Nigeria Police.
Majority of Nigerians chagrined with the inability of the Nigerian authorities to serve justice to #EndSARS victims had, on Saturday, protested against the Lagos judicial panel's approval for the reopening Lekki Toll Gate until justice is attained.
The #OccupyLekkiTollGate protest was, however, in discontent with President Buhari and the Nigerian security agencies who have vowed to deal mercilessly with protesters than allow a repeat of last year #EndSARS protest.
Video evidences and reports revealed the security agencies had arrested and detained no fewer than 18 protesters, including the popularly Nigerian comedian, Mr Macaroni, but later discharged them after severe torture.

Contrary to Buhari's disposition, Atiku took to his official Facebook handle on Sunday, to condemn the undue arrest and torture of peaceful protesters, saying the "1999 Constitution guarantees citizen's right to peaceful protest".
"The 1999 Nigerian constitution, as amended (Section 40) guarantees the right of citizens to peaceful protest. The courts have also affirmed that right. Anything contrary to that is not acceptable and stands condemned."_He added
Atiku explained that it is even the responsibility of the government, security agencies to provide secured environment for citizens peacefully protesting.
"It is the security agents' responsibility to provide a secured conducive environment for citizens to protest peaceably in line with constitutional provisions and the African Charter on Human rights"._Atiku stated
