Prior to the coming of IPOB, every other ethnicities in Nigeria outside the northern sphere have always regarded and identified the atrocities and mayhem caused by the minority group ( Fulani) as the activities of all northerners hence the general mantra "Hausa-Fulani".

Not everyone clearly understood that the dyad – Hausa and Fulani– are two separate races with contrasting cultures, languages and value system but commonly bonded by religion, Islam.

Historical facts indicate the Hausa people in 1808, were conquered by the Fulani Jihadist, Uthman Dan Fodio who later changed and replaced most of the Hausa towns and cultures with Fulani feudal system. Typical examples are the Hausa monarchical structure (Sarki) that was replaced with Emirate structure ( Emir) and the ancestral land of Gobir that was changed to Sokoto etc.

The Hausas who seems to be well behaved gabbar generous, over the years, became victims of circumstances as the Fulani evil deeds attributed to them has been a barrier to their (Hausa) good repute.

The IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has enjoined the Hausas to stand up and restore their age long reputable dignity, heritage, rich cultures and ancestral lands by coming out to condemn Fulani terrorists elements.

According to the statement signed by Kanu himself via his authentic Twitter handle on Tuesday February 2nd, he informed the Hausas that keeping silent makes them complicit in the Fulani atrocities.

This evil they do in #Nigeria, they’re doing it in your name. Stop them before they set you up for the kill. Your silence/inaction makes you complicit. THANK YOU!".Kanu said
