The obvious upheaval by agitators for the disintegration of Nigeria is no longer new to all and sundry as it has been the headlines of different media houses and social media platforms.
For the past weeks, they have effortlessly appealed to the government of Nigeria set a date of, or allow a, referendum in Eastern and Western regions, though their request has yet to be addressed.

Recently, the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Namdi Kanu sent an open message to the Nigerian government and the military via his official Twitter page.
In the IPOB Leader's message, he said its isn't in place of the state governors to decide whether the people of a state remain as one or part ways, but the right of the people to freely express their will via the process of 'Referendum'.
Kanu was indirectly reacting to the statement of Ogun governor, Rotimi Akeredolu who had asserted that if the governor can not decide referendum, who else can.
His exact tweet reads thus:
"Dear Nigerian Gov's. Its not your business to decide whether the people of your state should remain Nigerians or not. It's not even the business of @NGRPresident or the ,@HONigerianArmy. Instead, it's the business of the PEOPLE, freely expressed through a process called REFERENDUM."
