Barely 24 hours after Popular Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho told Yoruba’s in the Northern part of Nigeria to return home before war breaks out, Arewa youths have fired back at him.
Sunday Igboho who started his activism by declaring that all killer-herdsmen must be evicted from Yorubaland, yesterday was in the news for declaring the sovereignty of the ‘Yoruba Nation’.

Igboho during a conference in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, insisted that it was high time the Yoruba (South Western states) are no longer a part of Nigeria.
Going further, he said that all traditional rulers in the region must support the movement to free the South-west from slavery or they will not ‘see the light of the next day’.
Following this call, the Arewa Youth Assembly, has given Sunday Igboho 72 hours to move his Yoruba people from the north or be forced to take necessary actions by themselves.
The Arewa group’s speaker, Mohammed Salihu Danlami, in a statement, noted that the entity Nigeria is non-negotiable and called on all stakeholders in the country to reject anything that would cause confusion in the land.
According to Arewa Youths, “Since it’s Sunday Igboho who wants his people out of the North to form a Yoruba nation, we will make it easy for him by asking him to provide means of transportation for his people staying in the North to come home”.
The group also called on traditional rulers, Northern elders and security agencies to support them in accomplishing the task of evacuating Yoruba’s out the 19 Northern states and Abuja inclusive.
