Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has encouraged Biafrans, especially of Igbos extraction, to defend the Catholic Priest and Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Rev Father Ejike Mbaka.
Kanu's admonition followed the recent allegation from APC Nigerian Presidency, accusing Mbaka of demanding contract from Buhari over the role he played during election.
"Here is the point of departure: Father Mbaka asked for a meeting and to the shock of Presidential Aides, he came accompanied by three contractors. The President graciously allowed them in, and to everyone’s surprise, Father Mbaka asked for contracts as compensation for his support.
“Anyone familiar with President Buhari knows that he doesn’t break the laid down rules in dealing with contracts or any other government business for that matter. He requested the appropriate authorities to deal with the matter in accordance with laid down rules." parts of Presidency statement read.
The perceived blackmail tends to be painting black and ridiculing Fr Mbaka's personality as Biafrans respect for Mbaka desparages. Most people have refused to speak for or in favour of Mbaka.
But reacting in a post on Saturday, Nnamdi Kanu pleaded with Biafrans to tamper justice with mercy and shield every form of attack and defend Mbaka from perceived faults, noting he (Mbaka) can afterwards be allocated blame in-house.
"Rev Father Mbaka MUST be defended regardless of his perceived faults. Don't allow the trusted character assassination antics of the Janjaweed Caliphate cause you to hate your own.
"After we subdue the Caliphate we can then come home and allocate blame in-house. Never join outsiders to destroy your own" Kanu said
