Igbanke Police Checkpoints: 'I Said No Police Checkpoint In Biafra Land' – Nnamdi Kanu Reiterates Stance
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, a mass movement of people seeking an independent nation from Nigeria, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has reinstated his stance on "no more Police Checkpoints in Old Eastern region (annexed Biafra territory) of Nigeria.
IPOB Leader Kanu, said this during a Question & Answer Session with Biafrans on radio Biafra, on Friday morning, as he received a report that there are existing Police checkpoints in Igbanke part of Edo State, a subregion Kanu uncovered with facts alluding it's ties with Biafran ancestry.
He warned that people should advice their brothers or sisters serving in the Nigerian Police to exit any checkpoint, stating clearly that any person seen occupying any checkpoint will be destroyed together with the checkpoint.
"I said no Police checkpoints in Biafra land, the ones in Igbanke go and tell them to leave that place.
"If your brother, your uncle, your sister, your cousin is there, tell the idiot to get away and dismantle that checkpoint or else they'll die." Kanu warned.

JournalReporters had reported many activities of the Nigerian security agents, most excruciating of them is the extrajudicial execution of commuters who refused to give bribe.
One of the instances is the aweful incidence that happened last year, as Nigerian Police shot a keke (tricycle) driver for refusing to pay N100 bribe, in Obigbo, River State.
While there are countless military and Police checkpoints in Eastern region, a peaceful area, there is little or no military checkpoints in the towns in North, where bandits operate with impunity.
The partial status quo prompted the timely intervention by IPOB, who after floating ESN on December 12, 2020, and following the unending exploitation of Biafrans sweat, via many road checkpoints, ordered the dismantling of every checkpoint.
Kanu however has the backing of his people as they cheered and praised him for removing the thorns on their flesh.
