The Imo State Police Command on Friday had asked residents of the state to jettison the sit-at-home order declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra on May 31.

However what appears confusing, or aptly deceitful which may also astonish our readers is the reason why the Police Command despite its stern warning in a press statement sent to JournalReporters by it's spokesman, Bala Elkana on Friday, that the Police is going to engage "perceived hoodlums", went ahead to ask residents to come out of their respective domiciles.

“To those who are bent on disturbing the peace of the state, we have this simple message for you: steer clear of the public space or write your will before you step out", a part of the statement reads

The statement read, “The attention of the Imo State Police Command has been drawn to some messages circulating on social media purported to have emanated from leaders of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra directing innocent and law-abiding citizens of the state to sit at home from May 29-31, 2021.

“The command wishes to inform the good people of Imo State that adequate security arrangements are in place to guarantee their safety. The police in collaboration with other security agencies in the state has massively deployed its resources and Special Forces to provide watertight security across the state.

“To those who are bent on disturbing the peace of the state, we have this simple message for you: steer clear of the public space or write your will before you step out. The command is battle-ready to deal decisively with hoodlums and criminal elements in line with the law.”

JournalReporters has a clip where a Commander of the Nigerian Army was lately heard commanding his men to shoot anybody in the Eastern region, saying "they're all bandits".

According to the order, "no matter their sex, be it uncle, brother, sister, every woman, every man is a bandit. Shoot all of them to death". a Commander told Nigerian troops deployed to SouthEast

JournalReporters recalls that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, had advised Biafrans and everybody domiciled in the Eastern region to sit-at-home and never go out on Monday, May 31.

The IPOB Leader noted that apart from the fact that May 31 falls on "Biafra Heroes Remembrance Day", that there was a premeditated plans by the Nigerian security agents to kill residents in the Eastern region on that day and blame the attack on IPOB/ESN.

He therefore encouraged people to avoid falling victim on that day by staying indoor.
