Recall that Garba Shehu, who is also the Senior Media Adviser to the president of Nigeria, Buhari had granted a 2020 post-independent interview with a UK journalist, saying that Nigeria is now more "safer" with Buhari's administration.
During the interview, Garba Shehu, categorically lied to the international audience that terrorism and banditry has been arrested and brought to zero level by Buhari government.
However, on December 25, 2020, Garba had issued a statement credited to the president of Nigeria, General Mohammed Buhari where he (Buhari) complimented Nigerian Chriatians on "Christmas Day Celebration".
The Statement, titled "PRESIDENT BUHARI’S 2020 CHRISTMAS MESSAGE TO NIGERIANS", quoted the Nigeria President, Buhari as noting that the country [Nigeria] is confronted with diverse challenges like rising spate of armed banditry, kidnappings, insurgency, economic recession and upsurge of COVID-19 infections.
"In Christendom, Christmas season represents joy, peace, hope, love, goodwill and imminent salvation. These worthy values which Jesus’ Advent symbolize, are very much needed in our country at this time when we are confronted with diverse challenges like rising spate of armed banditry, kidnappings, insurgency, economic recession and upsurge of COVID-19 infections."__Buhari noted.
This is indeed a blow and throw off on Garba Shehu's personality and his lies before the UK journalist and global audience who over the years believe that Buhari government is transparent, honest and decisive in their undertakings.
If Buhari has elucidated the rising spate of terrorism and armed banditry in Nigeria, why would Garba, before now, lied that Nigeria is more safer Buhari surface in government?
The Mohammad Buhari government seems confused, dubious and dishonest with the information the feed the international community and so shouldn't be trusted anymore.
