Amnesty International Nigeria, in a statement published on Thursday, 10th December, 2020, has accused the Nigeria military of killing, conservatively, 350 members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) in Zaria.
According to AI report, the Nigeria military had, within the space of one year, 2015, killed peaceful and armless Shiites protesters demanding the release of their leader, El Zagzakky, who is held incommunicado by the Buhari regime.
Members of IMN, also known as Shiites, have been seen, on several occasions, demonstrating and peacefully protesting for the release of their leader, El Zagzakky who is being incarcerated and imprisoned by the Mohammed Buhari administration for seeking an Independent Islamic State from Nigeria.
However, the Buhari government has resorted to silencing and quelling separatist groups by coercion rather than peaceful dialogue approach. The Nigeria Army are always seen shooting, sporadically, live bullets at peaceful protesters like IPOB, Shiites and EndSARS protesters each time those agitators arise to demand for justice, equity and fairness.
AI report says, in a bid to cover up crime, the Nigeria military buried victims in Mass graves. It also noted that no military personnel has been held accountable for the killing. Recall that the leader of IPOB leadership had also accused Nigerian military of killing and burying its members in borrow pits.
"Between Dec. 12-14 2015 Nigerian military killed over 350 supporters of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) in Zaria. In attempt to cover up the crime, the victims were buried in mass graves. No one has been held accountable for the killing."
