She is not just a famous novelist, she is one of the must influential black woman alive. But this is not why she is very relevant when Biafra is mentioned. She authored one of the greatest episodes of the Biafran story.
When asked once why she decided to write about Biafra in her novel book HALF OF A YELLOW SUN, she responded that she did not choose Biafra, Biafra rather chose her.
This very comment of hers appears to be in sharp contrast with her comments some days ago where she expressed hopelessness on Biafran case. She equally dismissed the importance of the agitation even against the current momentum of the struggle.
Her response was that if Igbos couldn't agree on a president for election that Biafra agitation has no hopes.
She advocates for a political restrategization of the South if they would have any chance of getting BIAFRA.
