A Nigerian soldier has been allegedly manhandled by angry mobs in Abakpa Nike, Enugu state, for tearing anti grazing posters along the road.
The Southeast governors on February 1, had banned open grazing in the region.
In line with the anti grazing law, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had also directed people indigenous to the eastern region to print and paste "Anti-Grazing banners or posters" all across the nooks and crannies of the region to create more awareness before the expiration of 14days ultimatum given to Fulani herdsmen to quit open grazing.
The Fulani soldier presumed to had halted on seeing the anti grazing posters and, apparently unhappy, began to tore the posters but was queried by angry mobs.
An eyewitness, who confided in Journal Reporters, claimed that "the mobs requested to know why he (soldier) was tearing the poster but were snubbed. The soldier went ahead to tear more posters but they youths resisted him".

"They engaged in altercation which finally ended in a fisticuffs leaving the soldier seriously wounded.
"82 Division Nigeria Army Enugu, later dispatched 3 hilux van filled with military manpower who, on arrival at the scene quickly reversed beholding angry mobs with hardwoods who had already mounted road blocks.". Eyewitness alleged
