It is important to note that Eastern Security Network(ESN) has yet to be seen with Biafra flag, insignia or regalia. That Kanu inspired and organised youths in the eastern region to who saw need to defend their homeland from alien vandals from the Sahel is not an avenue to claim ESN is a Biafra affair or IPOB Army.
Those who dish out such false narratives are either misinformed or out to deceive gullible masses and international audience into believing that IPOB, somehow, has resorted to arms conflict but JOURNAL REPORTERS won't play to such gallery. It is our duty to be objective and discerning in reportage.
In the North, the governors are always in peace accord with criminals in other to arrest insecurity, does it in any way imply that those bandits are "Nigeria government affairs" or "Governors Sponsored thugs"? This question is directed to the misrepresentatives of ESN.
In the West, there exist Oduduwa agitators but Amotekun was created and nobody tagged it Oduduwa Army or Oduduwa affairs. Why?
In same manner, in the north, there are people agitating for an independent Sharia States and a Sharia Police, Hisbah, was established yet nobody ever claimed it is Arewa Army. Why?
In reminiscence to the level of maturity and law abidance exhibited thus far, permit JOURNAL REPORTERS to start this report properly by adverting to your consciousness that IPOB, as a global freedom movement, is the only separatist movement that has yet to resort to arms conflict in the midst of high level provocation by state security actors and government.
In 2015, consecutively speaking, no fewer than 300 IPOB members were extra judicially moled down by the combined security forces - Police and Army - during the "Release Nnamdi Kanu protests" in Aba, Igweocha, Onitcha head bridge, Asaba etc; Many IPOBians were arrested and detained till this very day.
In 2016, more than 70 IPOB members were shot to death by the Nigeria Army in Igweocha (Port Harcourt) during "Trump celebration rally", many abducted and detained amid the operation.
In 2017, Nigeria Army, during the infamous Operation Python Dance ll slaughtered 28 IPOB members as the illegally occupied Afaraukwu Ibekwu in search of a man, Nnamdi Kanu, who was under State Judiciary Affair, ready to appear in court the next month.
In 2018, Nigeria Army launched a full scale attack on IPOB members. Scores of innocent and hapless citizens were killed with body decomposed and buried in mass grave to cover up crimes. Others arrested, and till today still being bailed under stringent conditions.
Amnesty International, International Criminal Court (ICC) have reported, exclusively on the role Nigeria Security Forces played in war crimes and crimes against humanity.
In 2019, the orchestrated abduction of IPOB member under the supervision of Eastern governors kicked off. Many were executed secretly in military concentration camps in the north.
In 2020, about 21 innocent IPOB members carrying out right to peaceful assembly were massacred in Emene, Enugu state. It didn't end there as Obigbo occupants were targeted for extinction by the River state governor, Nyesom Wike, who deployed military forces to embark on house to house search and illegal arrest of IPOB members.
In all of these excruciating and tempting moments, IPOB leadership saw the need to remain peaceful. Despite the pressure from many angles cajoling Kanu of incapable of organizing reprisal forces, he never succumbed to cheap blackmail.
This realistic events aren't just within the confides of Journal Reporters, every Nigerians following news trends witnessed it.
Eastern Security Network became a child of necessity following the escalating ravages caused by Fulani terrorist herdsmen. It is just a replica of Amotekun in the West or Hisbah in the north.
However, the latest ESN counteroffensive in Orlu emanated from a deliberate and premeditated agenda by the Nigeria Army to deplete Ndigbo in Orlu senatorial district, Imo State under the guise of avenging their, allegedly, dead members. The video showing where Nigeria soldiers vowed to deal mercilessly with Orlu residents went viral, so it was never a hidden plot.
Remember that ESN was fully armed to defend not just the forests or bushes but people in the eastern region from terrorists who have come for emasculation. That was exactly what played out in Orlu case, if there are no people alive to farm, of what use is safeguarding the farm?
So ESN and IPOB is like two body with contrasting modus operandi: the former is aggressive in their approach while the later is defensive. Yes IPOB has yet been defensive because they haven't been allowed to pick guns. That is why IPOB, through its legal team spend huge sum of legal tender to bail its members illegally arrested.
But eventually, Nigeria government will push them to the wall because an Igbo adage says " you can not beat a child and ask him not to cry".
If you can understand the cry, pain and agony of a full grown man, then there is a reason for you to demand justice for all those killed unjustly by Nigeria government and her security agencies; request the government to allow referendum take it due course to remedy the impending cataclysm that will befall Nigeria. That is how civilized people think, civilized nation behaves.
