Bandits suspected to be Fulani people have reportedly attacked the St Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, Malumfashi in Katsina state, on Thursday night.
One Catholic priest was abducted while another was killed at the St Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church.
According to information from Fr Chris Omotosho, the communications director of the Diocese of Sokoto who spoke with the Gazette, the bandits abducted Fr Joe Keke, the former parish priest while the body of Fr Alphonsus Bello, the current parish priest was found dead in the farmland behind the Catechetical Training School, Malumfashi on Friday morning.

The whereabouts of Fr Joe Keke is still unknown as no contact has been made since the abduction.
At the time of filing this report, attempts to reach the state’s police spokesman, SP Gambo Isah, proved abortive as phone lines were unresponsive.
